GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF LAW
Law is the subject that touches every
angle of human activities. It has
existed since the beginning of human society. The fundamental nature of the law
is to regulate people’s conduct and, thus, to guarantee harmony in the society.
Every person in the society is required to observe the law that guarantees
non-interference with other peoples’ rights. Thus, everything a person is
doing, with the view to sustain himself, is subject to the provisions of the
law. Failure to observe the law may
attract sanctions and penalties. However, to be able to understand and apply
the law one need to know at least the principles in which the law is found.
This paper explains the meaning of the law, the nature of the law, the function
of the law and the sources of the law in the society.
